We're continuing our mission through a critical supplemental food program for children in need at Title 1 schools across Anchorage. Rocket Fuel provides vital supplemental meals and snacks for school-aged children facing hunger at home. Each week, participating students receive a carefully packed bag of nonperishable food designed to replace the meals they would typically receive at school. The bags contain two breakfasts, two lunches, four snacks, fruit and vegetable cups, juice, and three dinners. These essential items help ensure that children have enough to eat when school meal programs are unavailable, such as over weekends or during school breaks.

The program is designed to address food insecurity, allowing children to focus on their education without the distraction and stress of hunger. For many families, Rocket Fuel provides a lifeline, helping them bridge the gap when they are struggling to provide enough food at home. By supporting these children with nutritious meals, we aim to foster a healthier, more successful learning environment where students can thrive academically and socially.

Each bag is distributed by teachers directly to students on Fridays or before long school breaks, ensuring that the food is ready when it's needed most. Our goal is to provide consistent support for children throughout the school year, empowering them to perform at their best and reduce the impact of food insecurity on their lives.
