As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s especially important to recognize the role women play in advancing social services and advocating for those experiencing homelessness. Women are often on the frontlines—whether as service providers, policymakers, or community leaders—working tirelessly to ensure individuals and families receive the support they need. At Henning, we see this dedication in action every day, and I am deeply grateful for the women who continue to lead the way in creating real, lasting change.
Women Who Lead
I want to take a moment to celebrate some of the incredible women on my team and board who inspire me daily with their resilience, tenacity, and leadership.
Erica Taylor is a valued member of Henning Inc.’s board of directors, is someone I can always count on for guidance and perspective. She reminds me how far we’ve come and the strength it takes to keep pushing forward. Her unwavering support and wisdom are invaluable.
Ana Vanilau is one of the most hardworking women I know. From leading major initiatives like the Next Step program and Henning House to being an incredible mother, she is a pillar of strength—not just for me, but for Henning and our mission.
Sabrina Hall-Wright has been a dedicated force at Henning for years, committed to our shared goal of ending homelessness. From day one, she has brought warmth, light, and laughter to those around her—something truly essential in the work we do.
These are just a few of the powerful women I have the privilege of working with as we walk beside those we serve.
In remembrance and solidarity,
Shawn Hays
